← Dive-sites: Llynnau Mymbyr
Description
Llynnau Mymbyr are two conjoined lakes next to the village of Capel Curig. The Lakes are apparently used for canoe training and were allegedly a hot-spot for dive training in the past.
With a bit of a rocky entry, care is needed to avoid twisted ankles etc. The Lakes are about 9m deep so nothing too strenuous, even considering the altitude. There is nothing much of interest in them, other than a stretch of grass followed by a very silty bottom in the “deeper” sections.

Directions
Llynau Mymbyr is about 11 miles south of Bethesda, down the A5 and then just off onto the A4086 by Capel Curig. There is parking alongside the road which gives some access the the two lakes. The western lake seems easier to get to, although the entry is rather rocky. The other lake looks similar but is a slightly longer walk from the car park.
