There is a free car park on the southern side which is in poor condition but offers imediate access to the edge of the water and a jetty from which a stride entry is possible. There is also a car park on the north side (used for the slate museum and Vivian Quarry, however it is a paid car park which costs roughly £4 per day.
Llyn Peris to the east is part of the hydro-electric facility and is therefore not dive-able.
You can expect lots of silt in the lake as well as many shoes, sunglasses, hats and other items dropped by kayakers and paddle boarders. There are also some strange outcrops, which appear to be rocky but are in fact soft and spongy.
